One of the intentions I set for myself in 2017 is to be more present. It’s easy to fall into the trap of dwelling on my past failures, and for as long as I can remember, even easier for me to stress over future events that may or may not even happen. My kids have taught me that pure joy and contentment live in the NOW, another reason I’ve made meditation a bigger priority for myself over the last few weeks.
I’ve been using Present Time essential oil blend to help anchor myself in the present moment. It’s a blend of bitter orange, black spruce, ylang ylang and sweet almond oils. The ancient Egyptians used citrus essential oils for stabilizing and strengthening the emotions, promoting peace, confidence and awareness. Ylang ylang increases relaxation, balances male and female energies, and restores confidence and equilibrium. Black Spruce fosters a sense of balance and grounding, and can open up and release emotional blocks. Almond oil adds a rich source of Vitamin E, and according to Ayurveda (an ancient holistic healthcare practice in India) it is considered a nutrient for the brain and nervous system.
